Damn I missed this place. When I first signed up here in 2016 I was still in a long term rehab, hoping that this time it would work, and it did...for a little while. In Apr 2017, after a heated argument with staff there, I stormed out. Not having a plan but running straight off adrenaline cause it was that intense I just kept going, aimless. By that afternoon I had already messed up and for the next 5mnths it was sleeping on the streets of the Lower East Side and Midtown Manhattan, detox then the streets. Iver and over and over.
In Sept I had just happened to get some WiFi on my Obama phone (his office was worth something at least)and saw a message on fb from a person I've not seen nor talked to in 25yrs, an old ex. From that moment I said fuck this life. I went to detox, completed, went to the shelter for a minute and then left NY. 1st back to my roots in Jersey and now upstate Pa. I worked side jobs, saved money, got a used car and somehow, by Gods grace or just a fluke, just landed a sweet job for $20hr at an aluminum plant, full benefits and union.
Now my life has a better meaning. Now the thoughts, obsessions and compulsions to use or even drink have gone.
Now I just gotta get this body in full gear and back under the iron. Cool thing about my new job...fully stocked gym for employees and their families and AA/NA meetings once a week if needed.

What more could a guy want...it feels good to be back.

Its great to have you back my man....

What life means to us is determined not so much by what life brings to us as by the attitude we bring to life, not so much by what happens to us as by our reaction to what happens.

We are all here for you and to help when you need it brotha. Congrats on getting clean, the new job and back at it.

Now all you need is a women....wait....no ya don't....lol.

I've been there done that thankful for my 700 sq ft apt and 10$ hr job...

Keep your head up bro stay on that good path!

Wow, it’s crazy, I don’t know you well just seen you around forever on outlaw then here for a bit but I was just wondering about you a few days ago since you hadn’t been around. I honestly feared the worst but glad to see you pulled yourself back out.
Good to see you back.

Welcome back brother and good to see God works in mysterious ways. Now time to stay clean so get your ass to a gym lol. Dr. Iron will turn your life around

Awesome for you brother, Welcome back to "The UnderGround" , where it's quite obvious brothers care about other brothers, even tho we generally don't place a face with the screen name, we can a relate to the situation at hand. Glad you've beat those demon's, { just make it stick } now , I've not had any real demon's ( little stint with drinking , but manageable ) however , I lived with terrible stress worried all the time about my first born, he has finally got his life in order, has a daughter, he & his gal.

Just got engaged last weekend.

First grandbaby, adorable..! And, so when she came along.., I knew he had to change his ways, cuz he has someone else relying on him. Relief for me, but the stress certainly took a toll on me for a long time.

Good for you...! And I like the last part of your new post, having a gym at the workplace, that is a good perk, and sounds like a good company to work for. Pay is respectable. Congrats, and welcome back.

Thanks so much guys, you've no idea how good it feels to be missed. I've already lost at least 5ppl since the springtime to this shit, one of them from another board, Bordeau. To many of us say "just one more time" and it winds up being our last. I just started a great job in aluminum extrusion, the biggest plant in all of North America. It's so crazy how good things happen when we do the right things for the right reasons. I'm beyond psyched about this new job and life. You guys truly are the best.

glad you are doing good bro!!! Iron and the iron brotherhood will get you through almost anything bro!! that and maybe some Test...

It's been a long road but life is so good now that I mived away to western Pa. This new job at the aluminum plant is a tuff one but I live going in every night. Hopefully after my 6mnth review is up in Aug I'll be in the Steel Workers Union.
One thing's fir sure...my forearms are getting like cables from pulling the charges outta the presses lol!
