Off day

I normally have one off day a week which usually suits me fine. Today and yesterday however my body just said hold the f up bro. Needless to say yesterday and today im taking it easy but feel guilty as hell. I feel like I should just push through but my body is definitely telling me something. What do you all do? Push through or let the body dictate?

Depends on programming. An extra day off isn't going to kill you and it's not that dramatic of an event. Feeling guilty about it, that's a psychological problem. Not trying to be mean, just don't know how to say it. I say just forget about it, have a bacon cheeseburger, relax and watch some boob tube.
 
Have to listen to the body !! I take Sunday but I still hit the speed bag and,heavy bag for cardio on that day .
 
I had to take a Monday for 2 Dr appt and labs. I just moved everything back and train on my usual day off.

I know what you mean but we all need a day off some times. Don't be so hard on yourself brother. A day or two off will not stop you from reaching your goals. Focus on what your going to do tomorrow, not on what you didn't do today.

Thanks for the responses!!!!! Found myself having a hard time in the last week or so with intensity and waking up in the morning. Took two days off because my body was telling me to and woke up today at 5 am without an alarm and my intensity is back. The body knows no matter how much your mind wants to fuck you. Thanks for the quote also Ric! My daughter obsessives a bit on failures. She expects to succeed in everything and puts the work in to make it happen. Failures hit her deep. I have been looking for a wall quote for her to put it in perspective. The end of your post is gold. Thanks brother!

I'm taking a whole week rest this very week. Nothing to feel guilty about, your body just needs it from time to time

Had one of the best shoulder workouts today in months! It was definitely needed!!!!

Thanks again for the support brothers! Tuning back in to my body a bit better instead of the push it till u puke approach. Worked in my 20's and 30's but mid forties is a lil different story. Body had been telling me to pull back a bit but I didnt listen. Pushed back too hard. Those days were exactly what I needed!

Yeah you definitely can't be training like you're in your 20's when you're in your mid-40s. I'll be 45 this July, I know how it is.
