How good are cortisone shots?

TB500 is the real deal. Ive used it after 2 operations and I def. healed quicker. All 4 of my operations were due to training. But recovery from last 2 vs first 2 without TB500 was big differance

Gonna look into the TB500 and the BPC157...heard good things so will try these instead of cortisone shots as I been hearing cortisone shots do more damage to the joints.

Will need to do my right shoulder as well because of an old injury coming home to roost.
 
Cortisone sucks, I hate that stuff with a passion. I got a 12mg shot a couple months back for a knee injury. I didn't sleep right for three days and my urine felt hot coming out the pipe. It really rids me of fluids and I don't need that.

I might ask my brother about that as he had 3 cortisone shots over the past 18 months if he had any complications like that.

What type of coritsone did you recieve? I have been getting kenelog injects for years with no issues what so ever

I don't remember that...but its been 30 years. Couldn't make it through HS or college football season w/o cortisone shots. It was state of the art back then.

I'm not sure what type of cortisone shot it was. I have had dozens over the years for various things (mild colds, severe colds, injuries, etc.) All I know is that I think with minor colds and such, they give the 3, 6 or 9mg shot, for my knee they went up to 12mg. It was awful, couldn't sleep, heightned awareness, and stragely enough, urine was hot coming out. I suspect this had something to do with the fluid reduction capabilities of cortisone. I reported the symptoms back to the health provider and they said, oh yeah, we forgot to tell you those can be expected.

I have also heard that consecutive cortisone shots are not recommended unless they are 2-3 months or more apart - I want to say my provider recommends 3 months apart. This came from the same health provider though and I know most of them don't know everything and some don't really know anything.

I got a pretty bad viral infection recently (flu symptoms) (think it was flu, but flu test was negative - which never really works) and cortisone was offered. I gladly refused it, partly because of previous negative sides and mainly because I knew it would be going in the glute, which was freshly sore from a recent pin lol.

I think I had a few back in the day too. Now they are coupling cortisone with ketolorac (toradol) for sports injuries. Not a fan of toradol either - long term sides are fairly nasty.
