Good dose to start insulin

Anyone have any suggestions on a good dose to start insulin? I'm thinking about just starting at 5 units and going from there. Any thoughts or opinions are welcomed.

I can tell this if u don't know what ur doing the shit will kill u !!

I've used insulin on and off for years, it's only as dangerous as a person is ignorant about the effects and the way to use it. From dnp to insulin I've used them both. In fact I probably was one of the first few people to use dnp after sitting through a Dan Duchaine seminar at strong and shapely gym. I still have the cassette tape of the seminar and actually wrote a article ina now defunct muscle rag. Dans idea included insulin and dnp together...
So I appreciate the concern, and understand the risks. I was just looking for some feedback of where others have started their protocol. In the past I've worked up to 10 units a day...

I think that 4IU is a good starting dose, then see from there by upregulating your dextrose intake. I went up to 20IU a shot because I was wreckless, but still got out alive, so I suppose one must be really dumb to kill himself with it.
 
The only way to die on slin is to be in the middle of the ocean without food. Now saying that, make sure you have humalog, don't take R, log is more controlled for the spike and it's in and out in two hours. I don't know any bb'er that takes R, and when I'm running it like now, I blast 2-4 iu at every meal. Then blast a little higher before the gym but please don't do this if this is your first time!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure you have everything you need, and last............ what are your stats? This will tell me if your ready for the plunge, and what are your goals??

Start at 2iu and add iu everyday until you see where you land. Buy a fucking glucose Monitor and check your blood levels for a day without insulin. Know what your normal values are before after meals and fasted. Then compare that to the first trail run with 2iu insulin . If your values are way lower by like 10-20 mg/L you need more carbs if they are about the same you have control and you can add another IU the next day and add 10g of carbs more righty after you take insulin . Also know what type you have slow acting fast acting or super fast acting types and they half life's

Dan Douchaine calls for 10iu with 10g of insulin of R type per IU. And then eat 40g of carbs every out after that

Some of my best growth was while I was on insulin. Mind you I had some of the best in the Buisness guiding me. Here is what Milos told me a few years ago. I start at 5iu btw.

Why?
You want to use power of insulin and ability to store all the nutrients found in blood stream to one tissue only - muscle tissue - and blood is in muscle up to 60% only during the training...while at rest maybe 10%...
Ladies have 4-5 litters of blood and guys 5-6...so think of the difference from 10% to 60%...
I would easily start you with 5 units of HUMALOG or Humalin R. exactly 45 minutes before your training.
Insulin will be in your bloodstream in 15 minutes...peak in 45...have strong action up until second hour after injection and then slowly leave your body...and be gone in 4 hours after the shot...
So, IF you know these facts - you just need to do this:
Take one banana with your shot...
15 min later take 10 grams of EAA's 2 grams of L-Carnitine 5 grams of creatine 2 grams of Beta Alanine 10 ounces of GATORADE (17 grams of carbs)
When you start training IN BETWEEN SETS drink your workout drink:
5 g of EAA 10 g of BCAA 10 ounces of GATORADE (which is HALF of 20 oz bottle) 50 grams of VITARGO
Right after training - take WHEY protein
Hour later have 50 grams of carbs (rice or potato...) with your protein source..." -MS

I wouldn't be comfortable taking insulin before workout and running hypo. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to be anabolic post workout and shuttle nutrients after tissue has been damaged. Yes you might run the risk of over doing it with carbs and storing fat but you can mitigate that by using insulin resistant products like metformin to dispose of execsss glucose as well as if you use HGH this will also prevent excesss fat gain. I use 2iu HGH post workout and the take 10iu insulin 30 mins after. The tail of the IGF pulse will hit me one hour later as the insulin begins today reach peak effect 2 hours in if you use Humalin R. Insulin + IGF - 1 at the receptor site i would say is the recipe for growth

I love 10-15iu of novolin R pre workout, best pumps I've ever felt. I also take my HGH preworkout so that my IGF is peaking at the sametime my insulin is peaking right when I want it most...in the middle of my training session!

Pre workout slin with log is great if you really know what ur doing, 10iu log before the workout, slam a 100g of karbolyn and sip Gatorade threw workout, I can gaurantee the strength that comes with the pre workout slin is retarded. Never have run hypo doing it this way, but I wouldn't go tell any kid to try it or try slin unless you have read everything and have someone monitor you that knows what's up!

taking 30IU per day I switched 15 post and 15 pre bc of this post and i am liking it. :)
