So my friend of 31 years, who was not a bodybuilder and used no drugs outside of AAS and HGH, died this morning at 66.

He had a heart attack.
He was literally on a treadmill last week, in great shape. Didn’t carry extra weight, ate healthy.

We are fucking killing ourselves and not taking the right supplements or protection. Everyday we get on here and a brother dies at 50 or 60 years of age.

Very sorry to hear my friend. 31 years as friends is a long time and for me to say that I'm sorry could not possibly comfort you enough for your loss. Prayers go out to your friends family and for as well. I am coping will be hard....you know you can always come here for support.

Every time I read about something like this I think twice about AAS...However I do visit my doctor a lot to make sure everything is "running" ok and I do get regular blood work. Very sorry for you loss.

Sorry for your loss. Do you know if he got routine blood work? And other health scans?
Friend had a triple bypass recently (same age as your buddy who recently passed), never smoked, never did anabolics, never did rec drugs. Church going, nerdy guy.
He did Powerlift his whole life, never did cardio. His blood work was always on point, except for real low cholesterol. (Too low is dangerous, has protective qualities).
35 years of high stress in his job. Always very worrisome about things. Anyways, just had the blockage and no other damage, but if he decided to go home and nap, he'd be dead.

I'm going for a cardiac calcium scan, only 100.00 these days, shows actual inflammation (if any), sometimes blood-work doesnt tell the story, need to see inside.
Also, a huge fan of low doses when using gear.

Best to you, and your friends family, RIP...

I’ve had a number of acquaintances who died young that were not on gear. That being said, I am under no illusion that all this gear is going to lengthen my days. It’s very sad when this happens.

I just spent $120 on heart and blood pressure supps on Amazon.

I’m having trouble processing this. This guy was a TRT user. Not an abuser. He was the pinnacle of health.
He didn’t deserve this.

None of you, or your families, deserve this.

What all would you recommend bloodwork and checkup wise to see what state your cardiovascular system are in?

I recommend just a full blood panel (shows all blood and heart markers (and liver, kidney, etc) and that coronary calcium scan I mentioned. It takes 5 mins, and shows inside the heart and arteries.
(Only $100.00 around here as most insurance wont cover it (the crooked pricks).

Thank you for sharing. This community needs more stories and wake up calls like this.

Im not remotely advocating stopping steroids; because we know we aren’t going to.
But we aren’t supplementing right, we aren’t getting checkups or the right type of checkups regularly, and most of us sure as shit aren’t doing cardio.
And by the way, cardio is one of the only things I’ve found listed that showed it helped balance out heart thickening while on AAS. So cardio is important, but you don’t want to die while doing it.

The most important thing to remember you know your body if something doesn't feel right stop and get checked dont be a tough guy as we get older things change in our bodies .. I ate the right things did cardio spent hrs in the gym thinking I was the perfect picture of health but inside was a different story ..it was the scariest thing I've ever experienced in my life on top that 3 months so far no wieghts and another 2 before I can so all my gains are gone and at 53 it's not easy getting it back.. but I go every day and do 20 min elipticle and 40 min treadmill until I can start wieght training again..

I am sorry for your loss. You are right. It doesn't matter the age or number of cycles etc we should all be getting checked frequently and being open with our doctors and if they are not working with you to help find a new doctor asap... This post and seeing more of these lately has me thinking alot more...

Thank u brother unfortunately what happens is they see the shape we are in and cant imagine that our heart would be the problem because even the cardiologist said what are you doing here.. it sucks but I got a 2nd chance and more time with my wife and daughter..

I have had at least 4 or 5 EKGs in the past few years and twice I had a cardiac stress test. That along with a ton of blood work. Hope that's ok but when I read these stories online and these things happen in life it seems to come on so suddenly.
