1-2 cans of salmon blended up with 2 cups of water a bit of chicken bullion.
Ok, that's hardcore but....yuck. That sounds like a fake puddle of puke.

Thanks man. This response is something I'm going to do.. Im about 5'10 and am right around 175lbs pretty lean, not bulky, but a lean cut, and growing slowly, which is great.. My metabolism naturally is high, im a hyper kinda guy, active during the day, I'm in construction so always physical, no desk job, i work out 3 to 4 times a week for an hour or 1.5 depending.. im 37 now, and up until last January I wasn't working out religiously, still was in good shape overall but soft or something, but since then I've slimmed out, trimmed up, added alittle mass, but mostly just got leaner and way more toned out now.. I've been making a concerted effort to get more sleep, stay fully hydrated, trimmed back my cardio to just 15 mins of interval running a few times a week, I pike running, so I don't want to go much less than that. Ive been keeping track of my calories since I started this thread as was suggested, and was surprised at how low my intake really was, I hover around 2000 to 2500 average.. bummer. Lol, I'm more of a grazer, eat constantly through out the day and later into the night I'm still snacking on shit, up to this point I can't sit down and just eat and eat like a full pizza or whatever. Belly just won't let me. So, I'm going to try to actually eat like I want to add some mass, I don't want or expect giant fucking bulk, but I know I'm lacking in caloric intake for what I'm going for, and I appreciate everyone's insight including yours, and if I'm around 4k a day, perhaps 5 eventually, I'd say I sure as hell should be able to add some weight to my frame. My frame in general isn't a big boned heavy frame so the genetics for a 240 shredded bulk prolly isn't there , and that's fine. My endurance is great, and 185 190 cut would be great. So I know I just got to really bump up calories and complex carbs and I know it will be fucking a huge benefit. I've been taking photos for before and afters since January, once a week pretty much, and my goal by December is to be close to 190lbs.. So in December regardless I'll start a thread and pop some before and afters up, and I know I'll be proud of where im at regardless. Sorry for the novel, once I get going I tend to ramble. So I don't post a ton or guys who be like what the fuck dude. Lol thanks for everyone's insight here but it's appreciatedMK677 will make u unstoppable.. ill gain ten lbs everytime (though it often comes off) Ill still keep a few lbs on... I have been bulking since I was 18 and weighed 135...Now at 210 and 220 was heaviest but STILL know I could eat more!!!! I to sometimes let my stomach shrink and cant eat a whole pizza like my brothers or lot guys I know(unless IM straving) BUT...If you start with 3 eggs..after a few days do 4 and so on...Your stomach WILL expand. You have to build your diet like you do your body. Slow and steady. I drink Up your Mass by MHP or cheap Dymatize...Both work well but MHP I think is best tho they just changed it...So from shakes you could het 2-3 thousand cals and then eat 3 meals and get 2-3 thoudand more
I don't your right, and time also is another kicker. Alot of times I just can't shut down what I and the guys are doing for us to all take 30minutes to eat. So it's tricky. I do pack a lunch, but hasn't been with heavy calories in mind. I'm 5 10 175 right now, heaviest I've been, frame isn't huge, not giant bones, or thick knees you know. So realistically 190 is my goal by December. That's doable for sure. My stomach isnt big, I can't sit and eat a whole pizza at this point, so I know I either have to physically work my way up to stretching it, or find the extra 1500calories somewhere else.. what is doable, is a cooler with the shakes and eggs, and that would be a simple enough solution as well.. I've never done the raw eggs or egg white before, but I'm jumping on it tomorrow morning, thinking going no creamer first. Lolol then if it's nasty to me, french vanilla will be the go to. Thank you for your comment man. Tips and tricks from guys who live it and actually hearing what works for them is always better than random reading on Google. Sorry for the novel, just how I roll.I too have similar struggles as you, but I have a desk job so I can preserve more calories than you. even with a desk job, I can't consume enough calories via "normal" methods of consuming calories so I make my own 1,000 - 1,500 calories shakes. Lots of raw egg whites, almond butter or peanut butter, protein shake, whole milk, dash of vanilla + hazelnut coffee creamer. I replace almond or peanut butter w/ powdered peanut butter when I am not trying to consume higher amounts of calories. I drink a shake in the morning and right before bed. When I am not trying to consume high amounts of calories and when I am in a hurry, I'd simply drink raw egg whites w/ dash of flavored coffee creamer. Its actually pretty good and I'd bet you wouldn't know you were drinking raw egg whites if you didn't know ahead of time.
Since you mentioned your in construction....I am thinking you don't have the luxury of having a fridge near by to keep your drinks cold so an option is to pack your own lunch filled with snacks so you can constantly munch.
Good luck!

So since this last January I decided it was time to get back into shape. I'm 37 now, still look like I'm in my upper 20s, still really active with sports, I'm in the construction trade so I'm always in the go, and have leaned out, gotten more vasicular, gotten bigger everywhere, but have yet to put any bigger mass on. I guess my question would be, it's hard to eat more than I already do, what are some good ways to get more calories protein and or carbs to help fuel my muscles and gains. Also, one thing I'm really weak on, is sleep. I never get 8hrs of sleep accept maybe the weekends. I know muscles need sleep to recover, but is that really so important. I have buddies that sleep little that are pretty shredded, so idk. Any recommendations? Whey protein I use, haven't seen much from it since starting it a couple months ago. No diff in the scale, or with my eye.. I feel like I'm always down on calories, and everything and just can't get enough in.

It's not "Hardcore". It's what elderly people do when they don't have their teeth.
LOL my first job was at Nursing Home it is sometimes their whole system, I used to be the chef at St Josephs and we made blended diets created by dietician so as I worked Id down a shake made from spinach, chicken and mashed potato and gravy - Yup nasty to most then again I find all powdered protein disgusting. Again BB is about patience and being creative
Consider this a blessing - and who cares what your buddies look like?? They aren't you we are all different, fell different, have varous genetic differnces. YOu need to relax and sleep for one and learn patience Bodybuilding IS all about patience and just never give up. If you at that frustrated once or twice week go eat a damn pizza or nice Italian pasta meal. You should thank God you still look like you are in your 20s BB is the fountain of youth- If you really are that frustrated then you need to make a choice cut down on othr activities you want to get huge yet you do construction which is your bread and butter but cut down on sports. Real Food trumps powders ALWAYS. ANd forgive me with utmost respect DUH YEAH SLEEP is when you grow!!!!!!
did you read my post at all? I know you did because you went through several comments I made, and took them in a way that seems to be meant to frustrate me or something. You've been around for awhile so I know you know your stuff, but I don't understand how you took what I wrote in such a wrong direction and added a different narrative by adding your thoughts to my words. So to clarify things and my original post. My buddies; I don't care what they look like, just stated they sleep little, and still are able to add weight, telling me i need to learn patience because I want to add 15lbs in two months seems a bit excessive.. Being "that frustrated"; where did this come from, nowhere did I say I'm so frustrated at all,, I'm just looking for alternatives for guys who have a busy life and don't have the time at work to eat what I need to add the 15 20 lbs on, and where the hell does go eat a pizza or some Italian come from? Lolol c'mon bro. I'm American, we eat out sometimes clearly. Being Thankful for My good looks; I couldn't be happier actually about this, I look like I do, I'm thankful everyday I'm not some lazy guy who's not willing to get off their ass to change their life I just am the opposite of that in every aspect of my life. So lets check that box off. Cutting down activities because I want to get huge, I never said anywhere at anytime I want to be "huge". I said, I'm 5'10' 175ish not a big frame, and want to be 190ish by December. Cutting down on sports, That's just not happening, I love sports, love to play sports, and don't think I need to cut down any of that to add an extra 15 20lbs on in two months , as long as I'm not expelling an excessive amount of calories, hence why I'm asking for guys methods and what they do in their lives to help supplement a busy life especially during work. If I can add an extra 1500calories during the day I'm quite confidant by December my body will be exactly where I want it to be.. and sleep; I know it's important, but everyone is different right? I average around 6ish I'd say and I've made gains, leaned out, I'm never worn down or excessively tired. So I don't feel like I'm lacking a ton of sleep, I just know I'm missing one vital part to this equation which is the most vital,it's the calories to keep up with my life, and to then add an extra few pounds by December. Not be huge, not cutting sports out,I don't think any of that needs to happen. I won't sacrifice things I love that I feel actual benefit what my goal is. Ill do my best to add these calories in with some of these guys info they've been so kind to share with me, and I'll work my ass off at work, at the gym, playing sports, I'll try to get a bit more sleep, and see where it goes. I hope this post clarifies what I originally wrote, and you understand it better. I feel there's a huge huge difference in lifestyles for a guy who just wants to be a cut 190 lbs add 15lbs in two months , compared to a guy who was to be just a fucking huge 260lb shredded monster. I feel like you thought I wanted to be a giant, and I dont.
