Sheesh ya know I got two gym membership one hardcore B.B. and Olympic / power gym huge need binoculars to see other side , then one block from apartments I joined WOW open 24/7 so those nights I can’t sleep 2am workouts come easy , also late Sunday lol. My peeve is not one person has a clue how to train . I shit you not. I won’t tell them not my place , but what the fuck they do reps with light weight 30 pounds and range is like 2-3 inches. I believe totally in partials and cheating at the end of a set but these idiots are just plain morons and super fast. Which also has place but not every set every workout especially when they use only machines . Slow controlled , full motion then when you can do no more that way - Partials have actually been studied in recent 2000s to create hyperplasia or fiber splitting . Heavy makes new fibers so variety is the key . Changing things up every few weeks is vital . People do same shit for years then wonder why they never look any different- even between cycles you should make progress . Some people don’t get this bodybuilding thing it’s lifestyle the road that never ends and our bodies have natural tendency toward homeostasis ( reverting back to initial form ) so every facet of training needs to change some periodic, even tiny changes. Power type training has place in B.B. , this is why everything is called a cycle as periodic buildup and downs has been used for years by most experts . Intensity , choice of angles , exercises dietary variances . If you get stale or get stuck you’re body likely has adjusted to what you do . Change variety is the spice of life .

I am all for helping people but when people act like a dick when I give advice I just move on. It is a good thing to change things up once in a while and I even mix up the order of exercises in a session, and this worked for me.

I don't get approached to help. Nor do I when I see people doing stupid shit. I've got enough going on and not nearly enough time to get it done as it is. They'll get it one way or the other.
And yes, agreed. Keeping the muscles guessing is key. Especially for those of us that have been lifting all their life. Sometimes I know what body part I'm working but won't decide on some of the exercises til I get to the gym and actually into my workout. And tissue time of year, what is available is biggest issue without waiting for snow birds to get done chatting.

Some people have an innate tendency to want to help people. Some have the tendency to "help" but really just want to show off that they think they are better than others. And some are just idiots.

There are occasions where I'll see some guys really trying to do the right things, like doing real squats or DL's. But I'll see them staring at the ceiling during the reps (gotta keep that head up, right?) I casually and politely tell them, yes, keep your head up, but in a natural position. If you are facing the mirror, pick out a spot about 15-20 feet away that in in your natural line of sight and look there. If in the middle of the room, to pick a spot on the wall about 10 feet up.

Otherwise the only other "advice" I give people is to clean up their weights when they are done. "Hey, buddy, you done with the squat cage? Yeah? Then can you clean the 3 plates off each side so someone else can use it?"

imagine how I feel with planet fitness lol. I go there as if I have tunnel vision.....lift and get da fuck outta there before they give out free greesy pizza and especially before the smell of deli fried chicken from next door creeps in lol.

I joke about that place, but it's provided me with enough to do what I need to do for $10 a month and it's jogging distance from my doorstep.

Agreed. Nothing enrages me more than seeing a female struggling to take the plates off a fully loaded leg press machine that some idiot just walked away from and didn't come back. I did the right thing and unloaded it for her. Was well rewarded :)
