I thought this article was interesting because we typically inject larger volume then the non AAS IM injections. I thought Table 1 (screen shot below) was interesting as it shows amount (ml) that certain injection site can handle. VG can handle 2.5-5mls and its free of nerves and blood vessels which makes this a nice injection site, but I don't know how much truth is in that statement because I would've thought that nerves and blood vessels are located throughout our bodies. I'd believe if they said that VG has less nerves and blood vessels.

Thanks. Always nice to have more resources on injection. I'm OCD though(literally, I've been diagnosed) so I do things absolutely by the book. I don't "fly by the seat of my pants" with anything. I bring a book with me to the gym and read about correct form in between sets.

Nice info and yes I've had a couple (embarrassing) gushers already pinning glutes...and this is my first ever run. Ya I gotta live and learn so now I'm keeping track of the spots where I had "code red" so that I won't touch them again. Delts I am going to try next, but I don't have any 1" pins, so is it possible to just sink in the first inch then push the plunger while holding the stick carefully?

The ventro I will have to look for, not quite that easy for me to find it by feel.

This is what happens when you just fly by the seat of your pants. You must use the upper outer quadrant if you are pinning dorsogluteal.

Here is the best video I've found for dorsogluteal injection,

Yep it's been literally a pain in the seat so to speak. Thanks for the advice brother.

Not that I haven't screwed up myself a few times. I just make sure to do things by the book so there is much less of a chance to screw things up.

OCD is a good thing if you can control it. Flying by the seat of your pants can be a recipe for disaster lol. It took me MANY MANY months before I was comfortable and confident of what I was doing. I've had so many instances of poking myself 2-4 times before I was able to successfully pin. I took roughly 1 month off of pinning last Nov and ever since re-pinning last Dec, I lost so much confident and feel very uncomfortable pinning. I used to look forward to pin days, but not anymore. So now, I've been only able to pin quads and VG. I tried my glute, but my injecting hand was shaking like a tattoo device. I don't know why but nowadays, I am not able to mentally use anything larger then 27g.

I am sure this is all due to me loosing a lot of steam aka FEVER last Nov. I am slowly getting my FEVER back. I'll need something because I'll be pinning up to 4 different pins per day when I'll be on on the following
(1) Somedin lr3
(2) HCG
(3) HGH
(4) OIL (either combined into 1 syringe or separately because I prefer 1ml luer lock syringes due to using smaller needles (27g and smaller)). Test and not sure what else yet, but it will be geared towards bulking.

Wow, so this is your 1st cycle huh? Better late than never right lol. ON a serious note, I want to say "I tip my hat to you brother for not rushing into AAS without spending hours researching (I assume you've done your research because you've been active on the forums for a while now).

lol, on code red spots. Pinning oil in my delts hurts, but non oil (HCG, HGH, IGF-1) is fine. You should be find using 1/2" pins on your delts because you don't have excess fat in that area. And yes, you can bury needle in to reach an extra 1"...at least that's what I do. I use 29g 1/2" for oil in all locations except glutes. I use 25g 3/4" on my glutes when I can mentally use 25g. I know...I am a wussie, but not a pussynono1.

I'd recommend using BD safteyglide slin pins because the tip where the needle attaches to syringe is a nice smooth round surface which doesn't hurt like slin pins.dot_c93cddcea2b0e91e6a21c2a04af4b0e8.jpg

@NutP- Yeah I get a little nervous after taking time off also. The trick is you just gotta push yourself into it. Force yourself to do it. The more you do it the less nervous you will be. It's not a natural thing to be sticking a sharp object into your body. I had to take some time off due to TRT bloods. Today I pinned for the first time in weeks and I was shaky too. In fact I started to pin and poked myself and pulled away. Had to change needles and go again. Even then I couldn't "dart it" like normal. I pushed it in but went so slow I stopped and when I realized I stopped I just buried the thing. No matter what the bloodwork says I'm gonna get back on a real cycle after I get the results. Or maybe even after the blood draw.

"Darting" it does work better when you do it. That way you don't really have time to freak out about it. The problem can be starting to freak out about it when you are getting everything ready to go though. Oh well, C'Est la Vie.

Everything gets better with repetition. 20 years I'm gonna say I mastered pinning . Use my calf daily never issue

I just stick and push lol even the pros have mis gaps every now and then

Ya my first run and had some rather disconcertingly scary "code red" mishaps, so I am going to look into getting 25's for glutes as the 23's feel like harpoons. My first pin went in rather shaky but hit its mark. 2nd pin I nicked a nerve so got an electric shock of sorts as well...my leg jumped and almost fell over.

Good read. Some good reminders, good additions, and good general practices.

There are definitely both like you said but VG lacks major vessels and nerves and can definitely take large volume. I think 4ml is as high as I got there.

I have tried quads, calves, and traps a few times and I guess the muscles fiber is to tight there because it has been a bad time almost every time. Quads is usually the worst and my job requires alot of walking up and down hills and in ankle deep mud. So bad leg pip really sucks for me.

Every one different- see I choose calf because of the repetitive use - that prevents oil buildup. To me , usually ton of pip means find new sponsor . I won't use gear that hurts . I gave that up 10 years ago. I laugh at guys limping at gym- to me no reason for it
