A lot of folks demonize it, make fun of it. If you have a faith you will be made fun of and be the butt of jokes. Yet when your loved one is sick or hurt you will pray for them. If your in a life or death situation you will pray for your survival.

Just somethin' to think about.

Very touchy subject, I don’t believe in the whole religion thing and think it’s horse shit but I don’t jam my NO GOD NO MASTER belief on anyone, I don’t ask for help when loved ones are sick and stay true to that, cause nobody is gonna help you in this life. I was brought up catholic and the most joker religion out there, it’s all about money and how much u can give and always give the middle finger to the church, 100% of those people are fake and giving you the finger when you don’t let them out into traffic. I will never ask for a fakes help and will always stay true, but don’t try to jam what u believe In down my throat. That’s all I ask from people.

Very true 01DS,,,I won't force my beliefs on anyone but if asked I will proudly rep for Jesus Christ all day long!!!

I think the life and death situation and atheists praying it’s because they are scared of death. Which is understandable. No one knows what happens. And the unknown is scary. It’s almost like a last second Hail Mary in hopes that if there was by chance a God all that last second repenting will save them from burning in hell for eternity (or so the Bible says).

Atheists don't understand it and don't know what will happen to them in the afterlife. So they resort to what others believe.

Agreed it's a very touchy subject. My opinion we should respect each other regardless of our beliefs! We are all equal & have rights given to us by our creator. Religion & man is the problem not God, because of religion there's to much hypocrisy like Roc said!

Religion and spirituality are two different things. I’m a very spiritual person and believe in a higher power no doubt. Watching the birth of my daughter changed my perspective in life that we were designed and engineered. Who did that, I don’t know. I consider myself a Christian but often identify closely with Buddhism. Basically karma honesty and being a good person is what really matters. Religion and faith don’t matter much if your a shit person.

Religion is kind of mans term for following a specific belief system. Every religion also thinks their religion is correct and the only true religion. Which is a little odd. I respect all beliefs I just don’t have to agree.

I would never truly judge another human being as we all have different paths in life that brought us and made us who we are. Judging others isn’t my job and I don’t really give a fuck about anyone enough to put thought into judging them.

But I’ll say this, many of the regular church goers I know and am close with....... are some of the most close minded, judgmental, and hypocritical people Ive ever known. Im always wrong........their always right.

Lol so true. I always see the middle finger coming from cars with Jesus stickers.

I understand why people say Christian's are the most judgemental people...because we are. And that remains a problem for Christian's to fix. I believe in God. It shouldn't be a touchy subject at all. But MEN, have done horrible things in the name of religion. They have fought wars, persecuted, and abused entire demographics of people in the name of their own religion. But there again, stereotyping all Christian's wouldn't be right. It shouldn't be a touchy subject. It should boil down to respecting your fellow man and their views.

A few of us refer to one as the Supreme Architect of the Universe. I believe that God and Science are one in the same. As Geometry is the basis of architecture, so is that Divine supreme intelligence that stood the ape upright and gave it the gifts of Grammar, Logic, Music, Rhetoric and Arithmetic.

You could put an ape in a room with a phone and have a phone number written on a wall and in a million years I guarantee that ape won't figure out to dial that phone number. Now people are supposed to believe they evolved from a one cell organism over billions of years and eventually turned into man through multiple transitional forms and that man made that phone with all the networking and still that monkey won't be able to figure out to dial that phone number in sequence. Yet we came from an ape or monkey. One cell creatures to flying stealth fighters damn what a success story.

hit the head on the nail for me.....same here!

I tend to view religion as something that spawned from the natural human fear of death/pain/suffering etc. and others saw an avenue in which to capitalize on said fear. So, having gone from quite a religious Christian upbringing to more of a spirituality based belief system now, I just can't conceptualize and logically give credence to any one religion at this point.

For me, I do pray, but more in a humanistic/caring for someone/others way, it's not directed towards an all knowing/all powerful entity that protects us all.

That's morality, are you a moral person or not. I'll bet I'm not the only one to known religious people who are amoral.

And then there's the big bang....matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed...so where did the universe come from?

Since the first single cells, life has adapted to survive through 5 (as of now) mass extinctions, continuous continental shifting, and an ass load of climate changes all over the planet.

Life is to complex to come from a one cell organism. Where's the transitional forms? If it came from a one cell organism it would not have the need for a male and female to pro create it would just replicate.

And what does plate tectonics really have to do with anything?

So we just came out of the ocean starting as an amoeba? To complex life forms that are so technologically advanced we can make computers and so forth. I'm not feeling it.

And there it is. Sadly, religious belief does NOT equate to Integrity. I have a skull and bones emblem on my mirror in my bathroom. Every morning i get up and do my thing i look at it and think, if I knew that I was going to die today, how would I live today? What would i do? Would i bicker with my wife about the laundry or holler at my kid for leaving her socks on the bathroom floor? If I died today, what would be my family and friends last memory of me be?

It would be everything they love about you.

There was a quote I heard a while back that said you cannot identify a flaw in someone else unless you possess it yourself. If your honest with yourself you will realize that statement is true. We all judge others cause in the end we are constantly judging ourselves.

I agree with this completely. And hey I'm not going to sit here and tell you I've never judged anyone or thought myself better than anyone else. It's not something I'm proud of but it's true
