Been lurking on many boards trying to decide which one to make my home. I think i found it with HU. Everyone seems to be friendly and knowledgeable here.
Not new to training but haven't done so in many years due to injuries which are at a point I'm ready to start back in a serious and dedicated way. Anyway, I look forward to the wealth of training information i think you guys can offer and i will do my best to offer any knowledge and advice I can.

Thank you

Welcome and congrats on making the decision to get back to it. I've started over many times over the years. It's tough but life goes on.

I've already seen the powers of muscle memory and your def right about that.
Funny how when i got back into it I thought I could go at it like before but was stopped in my tracks LOL.
Been working on my cardio which has helped a lot with the stamina factor.
Just have to get past the injury pain part and i will be good to go.

Edit. Sorry Iron-Game i forgot to click the reply with post button. LOL

Welcome, ...! A little about you..? Just curious, not being snide, and def not necessary, or a requirement.

Similar situation no I suppose, been back at it just two years now after 6+ away 52 , lean year round, 208-209 ish now, from 148 two year's back. 6' 1 1/2" previously 240 ish.

Stoked to be back at it, and "Yes" Muscle Memory does exist. I'm living Proof, as is Casey Viator ( Colorado Experiment )

Welcome to wear the weak are Eaten...!

Welcome to HCU. I was introduced to the "Goliath Burger" at Ruby Tuesdays on Sunday. 16oz of prime Beef and a large order of fries, salad. It was gooooood!!!

Sorry it took me so long to answer your question but my 2 year old and wife had my attention shortly after starting this post and my work doesn't facilitate the use of phones.

To answer your question.
I am a 42 year old that stands 6'1" and current weight is 186 lean. Always had trouble getting even one pound over 186, seems i just get ripped without bulking no matter what type of workout i incorporate.

Last year i had a little accident. Apparently little old ladies can't see motorcycles very well and had what turned out to be one of the sweetest people i have had the pleasure of meeting slam into my bike (with me on it, LOL) which in turn damaged my back blowing out one disk, dislocating my shoulder which in turn apparently caused a grade 2 AC separation.

To say the least it has been one trying year.

Before all of this went down i ran 4 miles a day and went to the gym 3 times a week which all came to a screeching halt in one split second. Didn't even see it coming! one second I'm listening to my bike run through first gear then BAM and i'm flying through the air for somewhere around 35 ft and landed in a culvert all balled up.

The next few months were very difficult with a (at the time) 1 year old, no way to work and some of the worst pain I've been through. The whole time telling myself i will get back to it no matter what.

Well it's been one year or a little over and I'm ready to get back to training again. For the last few months i have been pumping out core strength exercises, curls and leg presses trying to build a base the best i can with out aggravating my shoulder which screws with me the most, much more than my back which is currently good to go.

Anyway that's why I'm here. I want and need to get much better (so i can keep up with my 2 year old LOL) and after surfing many, many forums most of which seem to be full of dick heads i landed on HCU by mistake and found it to be a little different than most which seems to fit me better so i decided to sign up.
