Now, I'll preface by saying Ive been in gyms for 40 years since Dad took me to YMCA back in 1977 and I got the Iron Bug.
We all see the douche's online these days in YouTube vids, but where I live, the gym I go to, and the time of day (5 AM), I never really see any.

This AM there was a new kid, maybe 25 years old. Very good shape, but skinny, but good muscle separation and stuff, looked good.
So, wife and I are squatting,he comes over to the rack right near us, starts slamming things around while setting up.
(Throwing the collars hard to the floor, strutting around while staring in mirror, slamming the pins in the rack to adjust the height, etc.

All the while trying to look mean, mad and tough. Im on my 3rd set, in bottom position using 315 and he chucks some pins to the floor and they bang off my rack loudly while im in bottom position.
(These are pins that go into a rack where again you can adjust height). When I got to top position I just looked over and said "easy killer". Not sure if he heard me, he did know I said something though.
He had on a headband, with his Bose headphone over it, really douchey looking. Thats how many youngsters grow up, watching other douche's on YouTube and think thats how you are supposed to act.
His 1/4 squats with 185 were something to behold. Im glad I dont see douche's like this often, or I wouldn't go.

I had a grown man like that a couple years ago. same as you, early morning workouts, he was the type that never set anything down, always dropped the weights or let the cable go and crash. and this was a smaller gym. one morning, I was doing incline dumbbell presses, he was next to me doing seated shoulder db presses. he dropped them, one rolled, hit my ankle. I finished my set, he said "my bad", I dropped the 80# db on his lap, he just gave me a look, I told him if he cant control his weights, then he doesn't need to be here. saw him a couple times after that, then nothing. and he was their before I started going there, every morning.

Good you put that douche in his place. I myself have seen how rude the young whippersnappers are and that anger and saddesaddens me at the same time. This generation seems so self entitled.

As for that kid that OP mentioned, I would have put him in his place too.

The gym I go to has a back room and hardly anyone goes in there. That's one of the reasons I go to that gym. I can almost do my entire workout without having to interact with anyone. Not that I don't like to. I have to ask for spots on bench when I do bench so I do talk to a lot of people that way. Majority of them are nice guys. Sounds like you ran into a newbie, and from the sounds of it he won't last anyway.

Damn rot, your not a small kid, I'm sure he heard you and knew you where about to make hi eat thoe hooks lol

No sure which is worst the weaklings or the ones that think there strong and do 3/4 to half reps lol

If weaklings have good form and want to learn, Ill take them 1st any day...
The wanna be bad asses are funny to me (again, I'm 51, not time for jack-assery).

I respect a weak guy that goes full ROM. A guy doing 1/4 squats with weight he can't handle is worse.

We all started off weak and naive, so I don't fault the newbies as much as those who don't learn and repeat the same bad habits..but honestly to each their own if you or they don't want to learn and improve their knowledge and level of training that they are at..as they say sum just need to learn the hard way lol!
