Just got out of a distrubing meeting "How to respnod to active threat in workplace"

The counter argument to the "no carry" is now the workplace has taken away your right to defend yourself... Which just happens to a constitutional right. I don't know how far you could take that argument, but in an "after the fact" situation you could sue your employer. (Assuming you survived the attack of course) Let them know that! Btw, sign nothing!

of course they expect a person to defend themselves with a stapler or better yet grab your boss and throw him in the line of fire while you escape ! that will serve him/her well for making such stupid liberal rules......lol

I work at a fairly large company and people just secretly pack. They don't talk about it or advertise it, but we pack.

Thanks for all the feedback. Now my work has the balls to ask me to work....shesh lol. I haven't read every post yet but I am looking forward to reading my brothers thoughts.

I dont know much about corporate law, but I also have corporate job, and the Industry I am in does a lot of "acknowledgement" type signings. That sounds more like an attendance signing than an acknowledgement to abide by a certain policy. I wouldn't worry about that type of signing legally, but not signing it wouldn't he an issue either. Wrongful termination suit would be an easy battle IMO if they let you go because of it.

Agree it is a bit silly of a policy. Run, hide, then fight. Maybe fight first and reduce damage inflicted? Liability and Insurance really do rmdrive company policies in every aspect.

We had the same kind of training at my corporate job. It seems scary but in his day and age I think companies just want to give a heads up and some procedures in case anything does happen. Never know I guess

You have had some sort of training to help reduce their law suits is all. I carry always fuck that, a mother fucker threatens you, that means planning to hurt you, so hurt that SOB first! At least we have a no retreat law so you can bust their ass .

A business in most cases is private property, it is the owners constitutional right not to allow people with a cpl to carry on their property. So technically nobody’s rights are being taken away. Actually it’s a perfect example of the constitution being enforced.

Not if you're an outside salesman calling on customers in your own vehicle.

I love reading you guys comments.

I’ll tell a story about drawing from cealment.... I used to take shoot N move classes. the fact that a timer was used was enough to cause me to freak out. Timer went off, but I couldn’t get my pistol out of my holster. I’ve had lots of practices at range but never in a classroom setting.

a person with a firearm is no good unless he/she proficient and regular training. I thought I was proficient lol

It should be if you have your cpl, you can bring it anywhere. The stipulations are absurd because at the end of the day if there’s some loose cannon they don’t care about laws. The law abiding responsible concealed carriers, if a situation arises would be the ones that can save people’s lives before LE shows. But unfortunately to many snowflakes/ libtards making laws these days.
