Pupu, have you ever tried to run it from a USB stick?. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to boot from one. I tried to create one just to try it out but couldn't get it to work.

No kins I have not..

Malwarebytes never had a problem with. Bought the pro edition and it has saved my bacon many times...especially when my mother uses my computer. It has caught malware hidden in ads that are displayed in the games she liked to play.

Haha, about your Mom using your computer!.

I also use Malwarebytes Anti-exploit free- it's a great product. ADWcleaner is pretty good to run occasionally also. Anti-Rootkit beta. These are all available at the Malwarebytes website. You guys probably knew this, but for anyone else..

I remember back in the day when I was at computer school and learned how to boot from USB or CD-ROM. It was fun to restart computers that are not yours and get to the BIOs to ensure that PC can boot from USB and then your in and out and they don't even know it. I never did anything was illegal other then "tampering" with PCs that don't belong to me, but it wasn't tampering, it was real life hands on experience which is identical to what I would do if I had to repair PC that crashed and can't boot up and/or infected with unwanted yuck (virus, malware....etc....) I finished school, got my A+ Certification and never worked a min in that line of work lol.. At least unemployment paid school tuition and books.

Actually I created a user account for her to use...so my stuff is safe (and I back things up to an external hard drive). She don't have my own username and password :)

You know better than to save your passwords on your computer. And I know you know better then to save it as a .txt.

Yup, I use a password manager to keep track of my passwords ( which is a help considering I have some memory issues)

I should use a password manager and do know better....There was one for free the other day. I forget the name of the site, but they have free software daily. Everyday is different. Not talking about cracked or pirated software either. You can easily catch a virus putting cracked or pirated software on your pc...Not that I've done that before.

Yeah Nut, I've been to school for computer repair also. I did A+ twice, the second time just because I wanted to update my skills because back then A+ was lifetime. Now I believe you have to take it every 2 years or something to keep it. Also I did Net + and MCP for XP Pro. A lot has changed since then and a lot of people don't want to pay to get their PC repaired. Plus it's pretty much a thankless job and not one person will appreciate what you do. Friends and family will want you to repair their pcs free of charge and God forbid if any settings are changed or anything is different. People really frustrate me and if I did it more often or full time I would absolutely lose my freakin mind on these people and probably take a hammer to their computers. So you see I do like that kind of work but I have no patience for most people so I'm not really suited for it.
