Hi

Im doing a recomp cycle after a 1 year of no gear and very light weighttraining because of injury.

Im on my 5th week 350 mg npp, 700 mg test prop per week (pinning daily) and 50 mg winstrol everyday, hcg 1000 ui per week since week 2. Also I started hgh black tops 3 ui Im on my third month. Gains have been great, npp really made a big impact on my joints! (I have ostheoarthritis on my left elbow).

Blood pressure is 150 / 92 (stage 1 hypertesion) Question is, anybody here takes blood pressure meds throughout your cycle? Im currentyl taking low dose aspirin daily but want to try lasix again or even enalapril, etc, any experiences with these compounds? I will try adding a low dose diuretic today and will check again tomorrow.

thanks

Have you tried low dose cialis for the BP?
Aspirin does nothing for high blood pressure

Yeah what Hevi-head said.
It’ll not only help lower BP but get better pumps as well.
I have Norvasc prescribed. But don’t take it anymore. But have taken it on cycle before. I’ve gotten my BP under control and it’s not the best to mix BP meds with cialis.

I see that you didn’t mention any form of AI? I would get your estrogen checked out.

I would not recommend lasix unless you have experience and prior use. Side effects hypokalemia/hypocalcemia can be life threatening. There are many sponsors that supply hypertension meds. Any previous experience using any Rx s for your high BP?

If you start BP meds start at a low dose. I started norvasc at 2.5mg and eventually went to 5mg. Big drops in blood pressure can be fatal. And don’t get up too quickly when you first start out. Postural hypotension can make you pass out and you don’t want to risk hitting your head or anything.
Thought I’d let you know just in case you aren’t going through a doctor for BP meds

Thanks for the advice! I have arimidex but not taking it for this cycle, I guess the smartest thing to do considering the side effects of diuretics and blood pressure meds is to have my estrogen checked soon and maybe something else will show up in the results, thanks!

No problem. Since you’re taking NPP you should also check prolactin levels. Usually prolactin is okay if estrogen is okay . But since you don’t know estrogen ya might as well test for both.

I’m on 50mg it let. It’s the best one for bodybuilders since it doesn’t mess with your water.

Stay away from lasix for sure. If you're retaining heavy water on cycle and this is the reason your BP is spiked, hydrochlorothiazide (HCT aka HCTZ) is your best bet. It's relatively safe as long as you don't overdue it. A dosage of 50mg is very safe and effective. I've used it for years for water retention on certain drugs. Otherwise, for BP issues due to high dosages of anabolics, your best bet is an ACE inhibitor (lisinopril) or an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) such as losartan. I was prescribed the former which worked well for quite some time but recently was switched over to the latter because lisnopril wasn't working as well as it used to. All three of these drugs have their place and are relatively safe as long as you use common sense.

If you have any questions about BP meds, feel free to ask as I'm pretty well versed in this area from experience. There is absolutely no way I would blast without lisinopril or losartan on hand to control my BP. And I always have HCT on hand for water retention, which also leads to high BP. The risk of stroke and/or kidney damage is too high while we're on a heavy cycle that we need to monitor and take precautions. In my opinion, high BP is the biggest side effect of high dosage anaboics and is what we need to worry about first and foremost.

I have been thinking how can some guys use very high amounts of gear without feeling like shit, for my last normal cycle before my fracture I did 350 mg tren 350 test prop and 50 mg of winstrol and my blood pressure was higher than it is for this cycle... also my father died of heart disease and was hypertense for at least 5 years before his heart started to grow and his aortic valve to fail, so I am obviously worried

Thanks for the advice!

You should be getting closely monitored by a doctor. I know it’s a bad comparison because he obviously used much more gear than you and I’m assuming is much bigger. But Dallas mccarver had to have had pre existing heart issues and not have known or just blatantly ignored it. Family history of heart disease and gear don’t go together. High BP is usually a more silent killer. Slowly taking years off of your life.

For the moment Im monitoring my bp daily, my father never used any amount of gear, he and his parents both died of heart disease but they were all heavy smokers and didnt do a lot of cardio, etc... As long as bp is ok I wont go to the doctor for now, problem is how to explain my gear use... thanks for the advice! this forums are very active
