Getting Hair Graft surgery

I'm getting neograft surgery in about 30 days.
I can't afford it, but I can't afford to not to: I don't want the bald look and I'm losing hair by the handful despite a minoxidil and nizoral regime.

I basically have a bad comb over; bald through the top and crown and long on sides.

2,000 plugs (which is a ton) by a quality place is costing me $6,900.00

So yes, it's unbelievably expensive. It's also permanent and the results are great.

I'll report back my experience.

Anybody had this sort of thing done before?

Jesus man 7k on hair. Have you ever shaved your head? Would you look that bad with a shaved head? You could buy 7k of GH instead lol...

Bald looks bad on me.
Buzzed looks great IF I'm not balding.
You look really bad with a buzz cut if it's really splotchy.

I just take a blade to mine 3-4 times a week. No shaving cream or anything. So easy.

If you look good buzzed your probably good going skin bro.

I'm just jealous you have 7k to blow on hair lol...

How old are you?

They don’t last either, my friend has spent over 23k on hair and looks horrible, the gear attacks the new stuff the same way, he just shaved it last week after spending all that money and worrying, his gains suffered and prb wasted over 50k trying to keep his hair. Best of luck but don’t get sucked in like he did!!!!

The neograft hair doesn't? They say the hair is dht resistant.

Wtf? Is my doctor lying to me?

Wow, that would suck... I have a thick head of hair at age 52,and I've been shaving it for 20+ years, hair is a hassle/chore... No need for it...
Take a bic razor to it...

Yup.

Leave your head alone, you are chasing a endless hole once you start. No one gets the look after one procedure and most do not get the look they want after 5-7 procedures. If you are younger than 40 years old and already balding stop to think how your hair will look 10-15 years from now. Do you honestly think getting a single procedure in your mid-late 20s is going to stop the progression of your hair lose?

People still get it done bc they think they are the exception and the after several procedures you look like shit and then you can’t shave your head bc it’s been poked and scarred to death.

Good luck.

I have watched my friend go threw this crap for the last 17yrs, his hair always looked fake and like crap and he went to the best, even flew out to San Diego and dropped money and still no hope, he thanks me everyday now cause he shaved it last week and loves it. The stress is gone and he just lives life now. Money is no option for this dude and he showed what he spent over the years and I thought it was near 30k but was almost 50k.

Okay I am not trying to start a fight here but talking to my doctor today and some other people and they said this is bullshit; my head will look good after a single treatment. I know a guy personally who had one treatment two years ago and his hair looks great.

So you're saying after one neograft treatment I won't be able to shave my head later in life because of scarring?

High probability.

I have experience and know many others.

Each follicle implant is scar. So you will have 2000 scars and holes that are not real. These holes tend to look fake when cut short.

The only thing I will say is, some people need to learn the hard way, i was going to do the treatment also but seeing what people go threw, I shave it plus I look great without hair so it was an easy choice. The doctors I went to knew the gear would attack it the same way, so the doctor your seeing wants the money, it’s easy, I would get him to sign a paper and have a lawyer with you that he guarantees treatment!!

It is DHT resistant. But it's not magic. For a normal(Non-AAS using) man, they still need to go on finasteride to preserve the transplant hair. Because everything other than testosterone blazes right past finasteride, that transplant hair will indeed fall out as well.

Contrary to popular roid lore, steroids don't only cause "hair that you were going to lose anyway" to "fall out sooner" unless by "sooner" they mean "when you were 105 - when you're 28".

Your hair dies from excessive DHT exposure, and some compounds are far harsher than others. While some compounds affect different people to different degrees, the really nasty ones are basically masteron, tren, and winstrol. With DBol and Proviron coming up as a pretty bad 2nd tier.

There are also hair safe steroids. Namely anavar, TBol, deca*, and testosterone(with dutasteride).

I was an NW 2.5 at age 26 as a natural who had never even lifted. I started taking finasteride and my hair loss stopped. At 33, I still have the exact same amount of hair even after two cycles. But that's because I've only used anavar and testosterone(while taking dutasteride). Just finasteride may or may not be enough to preserve your hair on test. If you're not a strong MPB case(I am - my uncles were NW5 by age 50) fin may be enough. But in my case, I needed dutasteride while on cycle to preserve my hair.

I'm scheduled to get a hair transplant to restore my hair to an NW 1.5 this summer. I'm not worried about it falling out, because I'll continue to take finasteride while off cycle, and I'll only cycle hair safe steroids.

*Deca is weird in that it makes hair loss worse if running finasteride, so you can't take finasteride while using deca

I imagine your friend got a HT in the late 80s-early 90s. They were absolutely terrible back then(see President Trump). They were better, but still not great around 2000. Now they look pretty good if the person is only an NW3-3.5 and just filling their hairline in to an NW 2 range.

What still looks bad is going from an NW 5 and trying to reestablish an NW 2.5. It's just not possible. Even 5,000 grafts is at most 12,000 hairs, and that's not going to properly cover a bald head. Though that person still may look better than being bald. Maybe 1/5 guys looks good bald. More guys look like pedos than Bruce Willis with a shaved head.

This is one of the top five most useful posts I've ever read, for me, in ten years on the internet.

What's your response on the holes/shaving my head to a buzz cut? Think they'll be noticeable at 6-8 months after treatment?
My plan was to have these 2000 grafts put in on my crown, let it grow out, then get a buzz cut (think Prison Break) in 8 months.

NW3 Vertex here... focusing on crown.

The older procedures left pits and indention. The new procedure is better but still leave unnatural appearance when cut short. If you need 2000 fues now you will need many thousand down the road. The more follicles needed the worse thing appear when cutting your hair short. Hair is naturally fine, to surgically implant them requires trauma and larger than natural pores to insert another hair or neograph.

If someone is a nw 1.5 I strongly advise against implantation. I also advise anyone younger than 30 years getting one. Once you start fucking with your head you can’t undo it. I know people will ignore me and will follow through but I also know people wish they listened after the fact.
