Don't think my legs will ever grow.

Been killing legs twice a week for a while now. I see "some" gains. But not nearly what I think I should see. It's to the point where it's killing my motivation. Anyone ever struggle with this?

Yup and you need to do high volume and high rep sets, you should feel like death when your done! You shouldn't be able to drive stick when your done then ur doing it right. Only once a week is needed

Like Roc said, once a week is enough or at least 5 days to recover. There's a lot of muscle there to try to heal if you're working them twice a week
Intensity had to be high. If you're not feeling at least a slight urge to puke at sometime during or immediately post workout you're not hitting them hard enough.

Do you guys train calves on separate day? How about calves twice a week?

agree 100% Good advice- Lagging legs is common, need to work intense but also recover. Then there is the one thing Most of us seem to never have enough - Patience LOL I been BB for 34 years , I was completely natty for half that and my legs are one of my strong parts. Minimum 12-15 reps for me same sets I go 3 on 1 off, 3 on 2 off.

My routines are quality imo. I look like a baby deer trying to walk after leg day lmao. I think it's genetic. You seen my dad. Haha.

Gonna add more volume. Keep it once a week but go extra hard. Thanks man.

Part of intensity is few seconds slowly up then longer down duration of intensity big factor , some times not how many reps but the set should last at least a minute

Boom.. this man answered it for you. I was so pissed about mine I bought a squat rack for my basement. The responded to high volume hight reps. You use your legs daily so some can be hard to shock into growth.

Hit legs this am. 6x10 box squats. Working on my form still. Always been trash. 5x12 smith machine squats. 5x12 close leg and a foot forward smith machine squats. 4x15 wife stance leg press. Leg ext and leg curls 5xfailure. I feel like a newborn learning to walk

If I may suggest... although it sounds like you're doing box squat to work on your form, your going to have to work on it all over again when you removed the box because your range of motion will be greater, but your mind remembers your up down from box range instead. Box squats are more or less for powerlifters trying to go from 700lbs to 705lbs 1 rep max. If its form you're worried about let go of your pride and put 25lbs on each side, go down until you feel the stretch more than you ever have and remember that ROM. Just my two cents and personal experience, ive made every mistake out there, so I would know :)

Gonna add that into the mix. I leave my ego at the door when I hit the gym. That's how I hurt my shoulder years ago. Thinking I was superman. No more.

I hit legs once a week, real heavy! I start with leg press and put 24x45lb plates on it and do 10 reps then I put 28x45lb plates on and do a set of 10 reps then I put on 32x45lb plates and do 10 reps, if I feel good I might throw on a couple more 45lb plates and do as many as I can. Then I do hacks, start with 4x45lb plates and do 10 reps then I throw on 6x45lb plates and do a set of 10 then I pit on 8x45lb plates and do 10. I go and do 300lbs on the leg extension for 3 sets of 10. I do hams on leg day too so I will do seated leg curl starting at 150lbs for 10 then 170lbs for 10 then 190lbs for 10, then I move to lying leg curls and do the exact same weight and reps I did seated. That is my leg day and my legs hurt afterwards and I walk super slow but they grow good. I had measured them cold before at 32".
I don't do squats at all anymore, havent in more than 10 years!

Thanks
TMM

Squats and "Milk" brother , lots of both..!

Deep breathing 20 rep routine, Randall Strossen methods.

Sometimes they may need shocked too, * Pre-exhaust can Kickstart em' into growing too.

The oblectmis to "not" unload or rack the bar til your done, may sound ,. Or. Seem easy from the onset, but as you progress to 235 plus lbs on the bar , some are crazy strong , but point is the constant TOT, and deep breathing, the DB cross bench pullovers are refreshing, and a nice stretch on the back after the brutal work is done.

Several weeks of this twice a week, with progressive overload, by week six or so, you know it. It works.

But so many other things do too....!
