I’ve lifted years without them. Trying to get my squats a little boost. Was wondering what you guys thought before I spent $100-200.

I have a pair of the adidas lifters I use for heavy squats and deads, I really like them and think they were worth the money. On my second pair if that says anything.

"powerlifting shoes.." Well it depends..For deads you want flat with some grip..no heel .. I use Wrestling shoes MATFLEX and i gottem online for like 30 bucks...LOUIE SIMMONS SWEARS by CHUCK TAYLORS for squats and id say they are prob good for deads to..Ive never owned apair..I use my wrestling shoes foer squats too bujt they ARE NOT the best IMO..I'd like something with more support... Now OLY weighlifting /powerlifters often use SQUAT SHOES...They can help or make it worse depending on your style.. If your quad dominate and squat a bit closer theyll prob kick ass( Im ordering soon) but if you lift with a squat suit and wide stance they may make it worse... Best bet chucks for price or order dead slippers /wrestling shoes for deadlifts and Weightlifting shoes for squats if it fits your style if not maybe just use chucks and you can get dead slippers for 20 bux

Thanks for the input fellas. I picked up a pair of Adidas Leistung 16 ii. Got em on sale.. I deadlift barefooted, so I’m pretty sure these will give me more of an edge on squats as I am quad dominate.

You will be happy with the adidas lifters, very secure flat shoe that is comfortable even under heavy weight.

I wear my Penlays on squat day or when pulling CJs or snatches. You no longer bleed energy into the shoe compressing it.
