Total bitch of a scenario. 7 weeks into a simple 400/ wk Cyp cycle. Started noticing some red bumps on my back, Having acne back there is pretty common for me on T and though nothing of it. Then they started forming close together in the obvious Shingles style "strand" blistering/ hurting like bastard. Got it confirmed through the doc, and now on some anti-Virals, and it is clearing.

Is this just bad luck/ timing? Has anyone ever heard of this as a side?

I have had no extra stress or anything lately..WTH?

I had a mild case of shingles (and not on a cycle now) plus I remember I had a bad case of the measles as a child and that shingles can be triggered by anything it seems.

I just heard that having them really really sucks. Think it's just coincidence in your case though.

Yeah, so if you ever have had chicken pox you are susceptible to Shingles. It's the same family of virus. Measles I think are in the same category. It's more common than I thought, about 300,000 reported cases in the US each year. Yeah, they suck alright. It's tied to the nerves. The pain like waves over you and hits pretty hard. I hope none of you ever get it.

How much is the vaccine for this? Worth it?

The Vaccine that can help prevent them is called "Zostavax". I am unsure of the cost but it is recommended for adults over 60 that have had chicken pox. But not Shingles.
I would talk to a trusted doc. It is rare for someone under 50 to get it I am told. I am 41. I did some more research. Lowered immunity via Prolonged steroid use if one of the causes. Which makes no sense in my case, because this was my first run of T in a few years, as I wanted to creep back in the game a little. I am having 2nd thoughts on that now. Maybe introducing higher T in my system shook something's up and made me more susceptible? Or it could of been totally coincidental.

Oh yeah. I remember seeing the commercial for the vaccine and it saying you something to the effect that you can't be on AAS when you get the shot.
