Contacts versus Glasses

Just wondering what you guys prefer. Lately I've been having trouble with my contacts. Some days my eyes get really itchy and red when I put them in, also get some a lot of those wet "eye boogers" that get on the contacts so I have to remove them to remove it from my eyes. Other times they just dry up. Sucks because I just got a years worth. I've got some cheap ass back up glasses that I got from Zenni optical, but I'm somewhat allergic to the metal frames apparently because I get all itchy when I put them on at night to watch tv. So I guess I should look for some good glasses with plastic frames. The reason I like contacts over glasses though is because they can't really break and you have more peripheral vision. Glasses frames just have always broken very easily. I haven't had a new pair in 20-25 years though. So I'm guessing they've gotten better over the years. Maybe I'll look into lasik also.

So where are my other near sited friends?. What do you guys think?

Damn that’s sounds terrible. Lol. Get lasik, best thing I ever did. Been 10 years ago and still see better then 20/20

Maybe you need to try out a different kind of contact lens? I know over the years my eyes became sensitive to certain types of contacts and had to switch brands. I like wearing my glasses. And I found with age, the less likely I am to break them. I guess it’s a Maturity thing😉

Yeah the first year I wore them they were great. Second year, not so great. Now this is the third year. For some reason the eye doctors that I've gone to always order the same brand for me instead of letting me try out a different brand. I don't understand why.

Yeah. I gotta find something to do in between figuring that out though. Guess I'm gonna have to look at glasses. Will have to figure out if my insurance covers glasses even though I already had them cover my contacts this past July.

I've gotten styes each of the past 2 years also. If you have ever had one you know how much they suck.

I had to get bifocals, contacts and glasses last year. I generally wear the glasses during the day and then put contacts in to go to the gym....or when working outside. I was so bummed when I was rejected for lasik...my vision is that bad.

I am starting to have trouble reading things closely with small print. I've got to bring it out in front of me a bit and sometimes every get a magnifier. I think glasses might actually be better outside and at the gym because of allergens and things getting in your eyes while you are outside or in the gym.

I’ve worn glasses for years now. Can’t wear contacts cause o my work and at the gym I just take off my glasses

No way I could take off my glasses for the gym. I can barely see 2 feet in front of me without glasses or contacts!. I've worn glasses since I was in the 5th grade and I'm 45 now. It was a little old lady teacher that told my parents I was having trouble seeing the chalk board. I was pissed at her!. Kinda funny when I think back on it now though.
