Ok, 3 weeks and I feel disappointed.

Ivery, you’re kicking yourself out of ketosis with something. Figure out what it is, and your bf will have no other option than to burn.
Possibilities may include some sweetener you may use, or a supp your using that is spiking insulin.
When in legit ketosis on Carnivore, generally even if you’re “over consuming,” you’ll still be dropping bf% while adding muscle.

At this point, I suggest you figure out what may be kicking you out of ketosis. As well, you may consider tightening back down to ONLY red meat and water.... with the addition of ONLY grass fed butter, pink salt and black pepper.

Eat more lean meat... LEAN meat. High protein, low (comparatively) fat meat. You need high protein and lower fat once you reach a weight goal. If you want to build muscle, retain or gain sttrength, you cannot remain in ketosis.
Ketosis is to drop fat and weight. Then... higher protein and lower fat is what you want to do.
You can carb load a couple times a week, or you can get carbs/glucose by eating no carbs while taking in high protein. That will give you glucose via gluconeogenesis.

I gave in on the carnivore. Lol
I'm back to counting calories and 1950 a day is my total. Just till I cut some fat. Still eating clean and portion controlled. Feeling better on this diet. Carnivore is tough!

It’s all good Bro. You’ve gained some more experience. Carnivore takes a lot of discipline to maintain it productively. A lot of willpower.

Well, feeling better since I started my regular diet plan. Eating more foods I like and cardio is getting better. The last cycle had my cardio messed up. Anyways, a little update.

And I was a little lighter other day. I was overdressed when I took this today. Insulated pants on.

One can eat a ton of lean meat without going into a caloric surplus and putting on fat for the simple fact that meat is highly thermic (the body requires a lot of energy to digest it), and when the blood stream is oversaturated with amino acids, the metabolic process of turning those amino acids into glucose, and that glucose then into adipose (fat) tissue, is highly energy-intensive as well.

At the end of the day, you can basically eat as much lean meat as you want, and you will never put on a significant amount of body fat from doing so (as long as your not getting extra calories from other sources like starches and fats, etc).

The same goes with vegetables, for slightly different reasons. Highly fiberous, and very low calorie content, means you can eat as much vegetables you want and never consume a significant amount of calories.

Now, for fat-loss purposes, what matters most is a caloric deficit. It is absolutely impossible to burn fat if you are taking in more calories than you are burning. Therefore, the goal of the diet is not to overconsume on foods that do not cause fat gain. You may not go into a significant caloric surplus by eating 7lbs of chicken breast and 5lbs of broccoli everyday, but you won't put your body into an optimal state for fat burning, either. Of course, it you ate that way for years on end (only lean meats and veggies), you would radically change your body composition, slowly over time. But you would not experience the fast fat loss you probably desire.

Neither does going with a higher fat content, seeking to get into "ketosis", help with fat burning. In fact, eating extra fats may help you feel better mentally, but doing so will only slow down your fat loss goals. Remember, the body has to burn that fat you eat before it will burn your own body fat.

There is a saying, "feed the muscle, burn the fat." The best way to do this is to give the muscle the minimum amount of protein it needs in order to maintain its size, and depriving it of all other sources of energy - no fats, no carbs. Throw in some veggies for health and micronutrients, and you are set.

Of course, one would not want to start a long-term diet at that kind of extreme caloric-restriction, since one can experience fat loss by gradually bringing the fats and carbs down over time, as the metabolism decreases in response to the diet. But the principle remains true.

Just to clarify carnivore is supposed to be just red meat correct? I hear people online and around the gym talking about carnivore but then having veggies and poultry and eggs and butter. That sounds like a basic keto style diet to me lol. If you do carnivore with eggs then isn’t it just the Vince Gironda’s steak n eggs diet? I listened to Joe Rogan interview a few guys who did carnivore and they said it was strictly red meat and they spoke of eating pound and pounds and getting lean and building muscle(I don’t know if they are talking about bodybuilding amounts of muscle lol but still). Seems like it’s a form of keto but I understand the real power of the diet is in the fact that it’s red meat, and your taking in all those nutrients.
