Started yesterday, all meat every meal and water. Got a in body composition test done. And will redo next sat or so.

This style of eating was reveared by Vince Gironda years back "Trainer to the Stars" he'd advocate just beef and eggs for breakfast, or just a steak a few other staples , liver tablets etc. Heavy cream for getting lean .

Some of the modern diets are sort of spin offs to that , Adkins, Anabolic diet (Dr Mauro DiPasquale ) to name a few. Does TB recommend fibrous veggies as well, or "literally" beef/meats & water only...?? Just curious.

Any meat, water, whipping cream, hard cheese, butter. I'm using irish grass fed butter. You can do coffee and unsweet tea if you like. I've got to have my coffee. Lol That's it.

Ditto this...! Can't function w/o the coffee , don't even get into the shower b4 having at least a hit of espresso, or mug of Joe.

Been drinking coffee since like age 7-8, maybe even earlier, my Dad's mom, I used to stsy over there fro a week at a time, & often for a day or two, as did all the kids who's folks worked & had their parents relatively near by.

She had one of those percolator's , and she'd let me have some in an old China cup & saucer lil' sugar & milk.

I'd basically been hooked since, just cuz of the taste.

But now and for many years, I'm just addicted.

Now, I just like powdered creamer, or half n half & Splenda

I could probably do it with decent results for cutting, but I'd have to at least have a "last" meal of the day , say two
Evenings of the week for a re-carb, "and" at bare minimum eat some salad here & there for the fiber, green beans, or broccoli, they constitute literally nil in carbs and I don't think would alter or "negatively" affect the outcome.

But, then again I have never obligated entirely to the way it was presented, I just feel a "need" to have that fiber and greens, whether spinach, romaine (not so much ) but feild greens , chard these things are also of significant importance. And very good for us

The Anabolic and Metabolic diets aren't spin offs of anything. Dr.Mauro Di Pasquale created them and is the founder of Phase shift dieting,

http://metabolicdiet.com/

I've been on and off his diet since 2001. It has been by far the easiest diet to stay on the longest. When I first started with it I called the guy and he actually called me back and helped me out personally. He is by far the guy I most respect in the diet/supplement/bodybuilding/powerlifting industry.

However Gironda and the very "Similar" style of eating low low (or no carb ) and lots of meat, cream , eggs etc. has been around since Arnie was a kid, so effectively it's really nothing "new" so to speak, and I didn't say a thing about the Phase shift diet. Caribbean diet or anything else for that matter.

They are "all" very similar, the human body hasn't really changed all that much even since Cavemen, right....??

And Girobda "Taught" this style to many people along the way , he had very crude printed materials in which he shared /sold mail order . Vince is long gone , Di Pasquale isn't all that old, everybody re-labels the same ole same ole & changes it up in some form or fashion & trys to capitalize on it and call it there own. That's all I meant in a nutshell

Just saying it wasn't a spin off really. He was the first to introduce the phase shift type dieting, that some people call "carb-cycling". I get what you were trying to say, I'm just OCD and technical about specifics.

Do you just stand on it and it gives body fat percentage?
Does it seem accurate?
You do, and super accurate. And each time you use it. You put your personal pin# or phone # . And it tracks your progress. The bottom of the page shows a graph.
I was useing a different store. And they had one as well. I have a good track record on theres. But this store was closer to me. And a different merchant.

I personally avoid the veggies, and go light on fibers. To maximize the effects of the carnivore diet, sticking to NOTHING but beef the first week is what needs to be done. These things for the first week can be used: ground beef, steak, beef liver, water, grass fed butter, salt (preferably Himalayan pink salt), black pepper.
After that first week, it can be expanded (though not necessary, and personally I’m an advocate of red meat only) to include other meats — though fatty meats are best because the key is to maintain fat as the highest percent macro, eggs, cheese, and even some nuts like walnut and pecan.
Keeping in mind however that pure carnivore is pretty much meat alone.
It has to be played with and tailored to what an individual will maintain, and what’s found to be necessary for one’s particular goals.

There are important elements to bear in mind: grass fed meat is optimal if one can afford it. If you include eggs, they should be pastured/free range eggs. The nutrient profile is far superior! Grass fed/organic butter and cheese are essential. The reason being, it’s important because CLA and omega 3 fatty acids are abundant only in grass fed. Grain fed dairy fats will cause hella fucked inflammation, and oxidative damage.

The body can, will, and does adapt to carnivorous eating extremely well! Typically, fiber will become of little to no need. IF some is found to be needed, stick with a fucking avocado — it’s got all the fiber you need to induce dropping a deuce! And has a great nutrient profile yet is still primarily fat.
The addition of intermittent fasting goes hand in hand with carnivory as well, as nature fucking designed it to work.

Organ meats (I personally feel that beef liver is most optimal) are super fucking nutrient dense, and can/should be consumed
2 (3x max) per week. Organ meat should always be grass fed/organic. Regular beef can be skimped on (meaning grain fed / non organic, as opposed to grass fed).
As I’m laying in bed here and typing on my little auto correct fucking text pad, I’ve probably missed a few important key elements, tips and tricks. I’ll add some more details manana!

Good night for now mi amigo!

For optimal accuracy, you should be fasted and hydrated when you do a scan. If that’s not possible, try and replicate the same food and hydration levels as consistent as possible each scan so you get a more accurate assessment. If everything is different each time, your results will be far less of a useable gauge.
I always do my best to scan under the same conditions — especially the day before my cheat day. Because what my scan details, reveals to me if I earned my cheat for the week, and to what extent I can indulge or not!

I do try and wear same clothes. And not eat before hand, so on. As close as I can get.
Now do you cheat on this diet tb? If so, what's your cheat rules?

Hi Bro,
Do I cheat? Well.... yes and no :) My goal now days is to stay sub 10% body fat for as long as I’m alive. Toxins primary storage area in our bodies, is in fat. Basic rule of thumb is; lower body fat, less toxic storage space! For overall health, I want little fat. I personally go through both strict and liberal phases with carnivore. I definitely do cheat — but it’s metered/regulated quite strictly. Generally what I do currently, is use the 7% bf number as my gauge. Once a week I do an Inbody scan with comditions closely replicated. My bf number tells me if I get to do a one day cheat or not. If I’m under 7% then I earned my cheat. How far under 7% tells me to what extent I get to indulge that cheat ;-)

Bottom line, I do take this dietary style serious, and it truly is a rounded lifestyle pattern more so than just a “diet.” The intermittent fasting I include, as well as the macro balance I maintain to stay in ketosis, is for sake of increased autophagy just as much as it’s about a favorable body composition.

Long winded, but yeah, I cheat! Some weeks the cheat is an actual meal I wouldn’t ordinarily consume — like an extra large pizza, or some mexi food, heavy Italian dish, etc. Other weeks, my cheat indulges total shit like a few donuts with milk, a fat moist brownie, and a few pints of Haagen Daz ice cream or Talenti Gellato! :)

Oh! Also, on that cheat day, whatever I consume I try and consume by noon, and then fast till the following day.

And check this out fellas; it’s possible to do a non-carb carb load! The magic of ‘gluconeogenesis.’
What you do while in a ketosis and/or fasted state (all circulating glucose as well as stored glycogen depleted), is consume several pounds of Lean beef (higher protein than fat) — 3-5lbs in one sitting... an OMAD (one meal day).
That will cause the excess protein to convert to glucose, and typically you’ll maintain an elevated and stable blood sugar level for upwards of 12+ hours.
It can be timed around a day that you want to or need to expert maximum energy for hard training or an event.
