One thing I have learned, is that you can get lean and stay lean even by eating higher amounts of carbs, providing you consume a lot of fiber. I can gain weight by looking at carbs. I'm extremely sensitive to them, but, by eating a high fiber diet, my carb sensitivity diminished. This has worked with other people I have helped also. Now, you can't just go "full bore" and eat 50 grams of fiber daily if you're not eating a lot of fiber now. You'll just get bad gas. You also have to consume a lot of water or else you'll get constipated. Start where you're at and gradually add more and more fiber every day(5 grams). Eat fiber with every meal. Beans are the highest source. You can also use sugar free fiber supps also if you don't like legumes. Try this and you'll see what I'm talking about.
