Can't believe no one Posted Eddie Hall Record

Hey buddy! Fellow power lifter here! I did a raw meet last weekend!

Great. I'm not actually a power-lifter. I consider myself a strength trainer, but I don't compete. Just an "old" guy here trying to get stronger as I age and not weaker. I say old, because 80-90 percent of forum users are 20 somethings while I'm 44.

Well I'm 30, so you have some time on me but I'm glad you are staying with it! I don't compete much. I'm looking to do maybe 1 or 2 more meets then probably be done. I need to shed a few lbs and my body is getting beat up lol

Hey! Are you calling me old? Lol, I know what you mean though I'm 48 and I refer to myself that way all the time.
I do hate being called "sir" though.

HaHa, I get that "Sir" stuff all the time by the younger folks. I believe "Sir" is used to be respectful of someone though. It also makes me feel kind of old though.

There are a few of us around here that are into powerlifting bud.

Did you see

Thanks Steve. I'll have look that guy up on youtube.

I like Chris Duffin...Guy pulled 1000 for reps with straps only...no dead suit...
Magnusson also with his 1015 RAW
Halls deadlift was incredible but id like to see what he does strapless and without suit...Im sure he could hit close either way

I.agree about seeing his go without the suit and straps. Straps make a huge difference but the suit is tricky if you ever used one it doesn't help as much as alot of folks think. For the deadlift I mean. Those shirts and suit make squat and bench a different ball game

Yeah Ive heard that dead suits dont work to well and also supposedly work better for sumo..I never used one but I put a what i think was a squat suit on I got for free and it felt like it would aid my sumo deadlift a bit cause i was so tight in hips back ect...But still never brought to gym...Some recommend using gear for raw lifters saying it helps raw lifts go up and I can see using sparingly how that could be so...Like with the sling shot I use it after raw bench for overload...gets CNS used to heavy weights without taxing joints and system to much...
But yeah Im sure either way these strongmen could easily switch and dominate powerlifting... Especially not having to focus on odd lifts.

I have used all brands of power lifting gear, I never could figure out how to pull in a double ply suit. I got about 250 lbs out of a tight inzer Leviathan squat suit and I got 210 lbs out of my inzer rage X bench shirt. My bench carry over was probably my favorite lol because I figured the shirt out very quickly and on a good day I could make small adjustments and just squeeze out some extra weight when everyone knew my actual strength was tapped. I was never in the ball park of any records or anything, but I always made a respectable showing. I loved it.

I think everyone should lift "RAW". Why use all this equipment to have it do the work you should be doing?. I guess it's good for building up ones ego. Personally I'm not very strong at all, but that's why I lift, to get stronger. Not too familiar with the sport of power-lifting but I like to strength train and I'm not at all interesting in training for a beauty contest, AKA bodybuilding show.

That's awesome. Raw is the only way to lift. No need for shirts that do the work for you.

Agreed I'm 51 mostly BB but I press 450 , do chins with 100 pounds tied so being strong is progress . I shattered my spine in 1995 but since Turn my erectors and abs into my lifting belt - have not used or even owned . I train all my little support parts like Rotator cuff , forearms no straps shirts and deads, squats heavy part of my routine - not heavy Max but I don't know 450 for 12 press behind neck isn't a max either.
