Anybody else have foot pain when they initially run? From my heals to entire bottom of both of my feet hurts so much pain when I first start to run/cardio. I don't get any relief until I sit down and let my foot rest for few mins and then walk to speed walk and rest if needed otherwise I'd start jogging and then rest again if needed to reduce pain, but doesn't go all the way away. It almost feels like extreme foot pump. I noticed that it was as bad near the end of my 3 weeks off gym and AAS. So I am thinking that its simply over pumped. I don't and never got extreme back pumps but very common to get on shins and calves when I walk fast to job.

Whats your thoughts? Do you think its plantar fasciitis? Should I go see a Podiatrist? Or its simply extreme foot pump? If extreme pump, then should I get some taurine? If not, what would you recommend?

FIll pepsi or water bottle with water- put in freezer then after you work out or feel pain roll your foot over it several times day. I did for few weeks and healed my foot pain

Your posterior chain may be tight causing the tendon wrapped around your heel to be strained.
I got some stuff for you to try.

I'll try out your recommendation. So you trained thru the pain...Any any point did you wonder if you were causing more damage by training thru pain? What pain level would you say you felt? I say mine is enough to stop, but not enough if I had to run away from a hungry human eating dog.

Sweet, thank you my friend. I am willing to try anything but I fear my pain is due to foot pumps which the root cause would be due to AAS. Then I would have to think about a revised exit stagey that requires me warming up before exiting a dangerous situation because I used to can depend on my cardio and strength to preferably flight and not fight the danger. Am I the only person that thinks about exits whenever in a non familiar place lol?

The actual amount of muscle in your foot is small. Especially in the area you describe. But if you believe it's pumps all you have to do is take a decent amount of taurine and see if it continues or if you have relief from the issue

Ps you need to always know your exits. In this day of refugees and terrorism. Don't forget to buy yourself a hand gun and know how to use that.

Thanks for the anotomy education. I didn't know that the acutual amount of muscles in my foot is small. I'll get some taurine to see if it works or not and then I'll follow up with you to see what cha got that may help. Thanks buddy.

Anytime for you buddy.

Sounds like Plantar Fasciitis to me. I suffer from it at times, but I have flat feet. What kind of arch support do you have in your running shoes? May be beeficial to get an arch support. Arch supports have almost eliminated my pain. Sounds unlikely to be a muscle pump issue to me as I have never heard of it before in runners. Foot support is typically thw problem.

I don't use any arch support. I simply slip my feet in my shoes and go. I'll look into arch support. I've looked before and some of them cost almost as much as my shoes lol. I'll check out this dedicated running store by my house that has lots of arch support and replacement soles. They also have sensors and video cameras attached to a treadmill to diagnose foot problems. Thanks for your recommendation.

The shoes you wear can be a huge issue for this too. Your body is built to run bare foot. So having a minimalist shoe could improve or stop this problem.
Secondly your running form can cause you tons of problems

I tried minimalist running shoes from new balance which were designed to use without socks and I didn't like it. My feet felt like they would get too sweaty and no socks to absorb it and I got bad blisters on my Achilles tendon area. I have been wearing the same brand of shoes for the last few years (ever since I got my office view and it freaking snowed yesterday..shoot I should have taken some pics:(). The brand of shoes that I wear are Saloman. When I like something I try to stock up one it. I tried and like SPEEDCROSS 3 GTX so I purchased 3 pairs. 1 pair is devoted for casual daily shoes, gym and indoor cardio and last pair as a spare but I occasionally wear inside my home to break in so that shoe swap will be as if I didn't swap shoes. I wear XA Pro 3D GTX Trail-Running Shoes when I go hiking.

Holly shit.... As I am typing, it just dawned on me that all of my shoes are designed for non pavement and for trails. As you can see the bottom of my shoes are not designed for pavement

For now, I will get new shoes, will try the frozen water bottle and get taurine if needed. Any suggestions on shoes? Also I know I need to properly warm up my feet before I go from doing nothing to all of a sudden jogging. My foot issue really does scare me and I will need to resolve it ASAP because when I need them the most, they won't be able to perform.

Thank you to all that helped

Personally I wouldn't say I've trained through the pain, I adjusted my moves , lightened weights train around , but initially I used the ice to make sure I started the healing process then I'd wrap , stretch and for while I couldn't do calf

Nike Free Run's are pretty sweet. They are light, but I still feel they offer great support of the arch and are comfortable. I usually only wear those on days with cardio. My gym shoes are flat sole Van's. They keep my feet nice and flat, still support the arch, and have tons of cushioning in the soles. I don't think I could run in them though lol.

I'd consider getting orthotics by going through a podiatrist. You can't get new feet. I had to get orthotics a year or so ago. I won't go without them now.
