Accutane

Have had massive trouble with stubborn acne (although moderate) no matter what I do it just seems to keep coming back. Went to a dermatologist and he put me on a bunch of different topicals that seemed to help but never really got rid of the acne. Decided to pick up some Accutane, wondering if you guys have any experience with it. How were the sides? results?

My results were great. I'd keep the dosage at no more than 40mg a day and the sides won't be that bad.

Beautiful, I’m going for 20mg a day for 6 months. Pretty much the same dosage that has been repeated in studies that showed in almost all cases it permanently got rid of acne.

20 mg a day for 6 months about 15 years ago. I can count maybe 10 pimples since then. I was 15. The side effects of it were extremely difficult. Mood swings, dark thoughts, sleeplessness, dry skin, lack of appetite. Now some of this could realistically be attributed to puberty but I believe accutane is a harsh drug.

My wife just went through accutane treatment. Never having a problem till she was middle aged. Dr said it was all hormone induced.
They tried every cream on the face of the earth without good results and the accutane was the last resort.
Worked like a charm but the dr closely monitored her. Actually made her get on a second form of birth control and she had to have a pregnancy test and bloodwork done once a month before they wrote the script for another month.
In the end it was worth the pain in the ass. Hasn’t had an inkling of acne since.

Lips and eyes will be dry for sure, 20mg is EXCELLENT dosing for the long haul congrats on doing research etc........most peeps take a crazy ass dose and bitch about sides you will have no issues except good results

I pretty much stay on it year round. Did 7 months at 20mg a day a few years ago, and it all but cleared me up for good. I still get small break outs here and there from blasting and cruising hormone swings. I usually just move the dose to every other day down to twice a week. I have never had any sides other than dry lips. No need for high doses if you run it for a long period of time.

I've never had acne problems, but after about 6 weeks on 500mg+ of Test I get bad break outs on my chest and back.

Good to know accutane can be used moderately with good results!
