New here. Had an old account from years ago and stumbled across welcome emails.
34yo, 6'1" 240lb.
Been lifting for about 20 years now.
Competitive powerlifting as a teen, college football as a young prick, pro wrestler (not famous lol) in my late 20s.
Nowadays I just lift and do silly things to keep a circle on my calendar (highland games, spartan racing).
I've gotten my feet wet 3 times, two 8-weekers and once very seriously during college ball (16-week).
Getting older and 30 hit me like a ton of bricks (as I'm sure everyone else). Have a bum back that doesnt take kindly to vertical compression so I've spent the past 3 years re-training myself to train.
Light loads in stability-challenged environments had been what works for me. I'm that dude on a yoga ball with 50s going at a snails pace each rep, but I'm able to stay in the game and not spend 3 weeks in bed when I'm not at work that way.
Looking forward to meeting different levels of experience from different realms of training, learning a thing or two, and hopefully shedding some light on advice for younger folk that I was too stubborn to take myself.
