How do you like your lantus run? How many ius were you running and your results ! How wild you compare it to short acting slin? I've been trying to do my homework in this and there's not a ton of info out there

I only use log, I have 5 pens of lantus and went against it cause there's no info on it, seems like the R and log are the best, log being the better one since you can bang it more threw the day.

It seems like mostly guys in the U.K. are running lantus becusee of their ease of access.

Right! If I'm gonna risk taking insulin (and honestly if you know what your doing there's not much risk) I'm gonna take the version I have knowledge of and control best

I've been doing a lot of research on lantus and am getting ready to do my own run. From what I gathered a good starting point is around 15/20iu a day. Being that the half life is so long going hypo isn't as big a risk as other fast acting slins.
I'll personally be starting at 20iu/day and going from there. As long as i eat my normal meals with sufficient carbs throughout the day going hypo will not be an issue. Hope this helps!

No, that's too much to start with and you understand very easily bottom out at that dose or even less. I've been using Levemir for awhile now and have bottomed out (24 blood/glucose)on 20ius. Hard to figure out at first.
I suggest starting at 10ius and pin at, or around 9am and 9pm. If you bottom out, it'll be around 6-9am/pm. Be very careful. Keep us posted.
