Hey guys,

i was flat benching, got up to 3 plates, last forced rep i felt a pain in my elbow...after benching i kept having a tendon popping sensation in my elbow tricep area when i extend my tricep a certain amount.

ive looked up snapping tricep sydrome and maybe thats the case. im limited to doing flys and raises now or i keep getting this popping rubbing feeling in mt elbow which is just uncomfortable.

anyone have any issues like this?

mri soon hopefully

I "popped" an elbow tendon in July, recently found out it was "Lateral epicondylitis, or tennis elbow".

Click on image on this page, see where the tendon is, push on yours to see if that is where the pain is.

Ive been using these to get thru my workouts these days:

I found a site with some rehab exercises that seem to help, I only do the 3 w/ the light dumbbell:

The supination one (2nd one they show) feels best to me.

yes i was thinking that could be a possible result because i do have the pain in that area, but thought tendonitis was more of over use not from a direct injury.

did you have any popping afterword with heavy weights?

i was looking into getting some IR compression sleeves i still fear it will pop . i can do half reps on hammer strength and really squeeze but doing half ass shit is so unmotivating

Overuse and injury can make tennis elbow occur. Ive been training for 40 years now, since 1978.
Never had an issue. In July, I ws moving my home gym to the other garage stall, I picked up a 200 lb. grip weight that my friend made (thick handle) felt the little "pop".
Overuse probably weakened it, picking up that weight sealed the deal...

That'll do it. I now been wearing an arm band on my left forearm to hold the tendon in place and it helps to an extent. When the pain flares up I used both ice and heat to ease the pain.

Same thing years ago was medial side “golfer elbow” . Wrapped itvtight for a while still bothers me to this day use all dumbbells to adjust grips

2006 I hit pothole going 80 my arm rammed through steering wheel . Walked around 2 weeks suddenly my late gal pal says your arm is black . Oh I’m white guy lol - so my triceps blew and shot up to shoulder . They had to mend my triceps and pull down to my elbow used to rope to attach to 2 screws in my humerus but my bones do hard they broke drill bit off and still filled with metal . But took only 4 weeks before normal but longer for heavy weights like 8 months of course that means doing 200 pound rows holding my body stable which took awhile but now feel great

My only advice is don’t neglect therapy but make sure they are a sports therapist not mere pt for anyone. We are bodybuilding power athletes so 2 pound and 5 pound don’t cut it . I learned that in spine rehab took 7 places to find right one . 35 years later spine still strong but always incorporate some form of rehab into you regular routine

My wife is pregnant, fell, and to protect baby naturally put hands out and disclocated elbow, and broke radial head. Ortho said elbows are hands down the worst injuries to recover from due to useage, and amount of moving pieces in there. Long story short..just 2 pt sessions, she has back a TON of movement. Moral of the story..get good pt. Pricey as hell, but worth it. Just dont over do it
